The Believe Out Loud Power Summer offers advanced concrete skills-building for leaders in the pro-LGBT Welcoming Church Movement in key areas of organizing & movement-building.

CHOOSE BETWEEN FOUR TRACKS:

Leadership and Board Development

  • Driving teams towards a shared goal

Campaigns - Church & Secular

  • Potential roles for mobilized faith folk, including maintaining identity as church in secular campaigns
  • Invitation/recruitment and expanding leadership (including across lines of difference such as race)

Running across all of the different tracks will be through-lines including: scriptural affirmation, a look at race, bisexual and transgender inclusion, cultural power and political power, and our different identities as individuals, how we are connected to our local church, a part of our denomination, and our relationship to the larger pro-LGBT Welcoming Church Movement.

REGISTRATION

You must register in advance. There is no cost to attend. However, you are responsible to pay for your own travel, lodging, and meals.

TRAVEL

If traveling by air, fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO).

Information on shuttles between the airport and the hotel are listed below:

SHUTTLE SERVICE BETWEEN THE AIRPORT AND THE HOTEL

The hotel recommends that we use Mears Transportation. When you arrive, find the Mears booth on Level 1 (one floor below baggage claim). The booth is open from 7:30am - midnight, but the service is available 24 hours a day. You should pay for a round trip fare at that point, as it is cheaper than two one-ways. Tell them you are going to the DoubleTree on International Drive (which is in their Zone 3).

To return to the airport, you will have to call them at least 24 hours ahead of time to make your reservation.

Directions from Interstate 4 East from Orlando

Take I-4 West to Exit 72-Beachline Expressway (which is also known as 528).
Then take the International Drive / Sea World exit (Exit 1).

Take the Beachline Expressway west to the International Drive / SeaWorld exit. Turn left (south on International Drive).
