The Believe Out Loud Power Summer offers advanced concrete skills-building for leaders in the pro-LGBT Welcoming Church Movement in key areas of organizing & movement-building.

CHOOSE BETWEEN FOUR TRACKS:

Leadership and Board Development

  • Recruitment and expanding leadership (including across lines of difference such as race)
  • Building and executing practical plans
  • Targeting particular populations - Who? Why? How? Best ways?
  • Driving teams towards a shared goal

External Communications

  • Media and messaging
  • Recruitment/targeting particular populations - Who? Why? How? Best Way?

Campaigns - Church & Secular

  • Potential roles for mobilized faith folk, including maintaining identity as church in secular campaigns
  • Invitation/recruitment and expanding leadership (including across lines of difference such as race)
  • Moving from mercy to justice; Jesus & Justice

Running across all of the different tracks will be through-lines including: scriptural affirmation, a look at race, bisexual and transgender inclusion, cultural power and political power, and our different identities as individuals, how we are connected to our local church, a part of our denomination, and our relationship to the larger pro-LGBT Welcoming Church Movement.

REGISTRATION

You must register in advance. There is no cost to attend. However, you are responsible to pay for your own travel, lodging, and meals.

TRAVEL

If traveling by air, fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO). Information on shuttles between the airport and the hotel will be posted soon. If driving to Orlando, you can park at the hotel for free.

We have negotiated a rate of $119 per night. If you'd also like to do some vacationing while in Orlando, this rate is also available three days before and three days after the Power Summit.

MEALS

You will have two options.

  • The hotel is offering a meal plan - eight meals for $157.
  • Or there are a number of restaurants both at the hotel and within walking distance.
